Where does PropDocket's design wind speed come from?

From FGDL/UF ASCE 7-22 contour geometry held in PostGIS. A point query widens through 1, 5, 15, 50 and 100 mile buffers until it finds intersecting contours, then interpolates between the bracketing pair. ASCE runs as an independent cross-check, not as the runtime source. It is not a substitute: if the contour query cannot answer, the response reports that rather than quietly swapping in a different source. Every response reports which contours the value came from.

How close is it to ASCE?

Across 50 Florida county samples at Risk Category II, mean absolute error was 1.62 mph, P90 was 2.77 mph, and the worst case was 3.88 mph. All 50 fell within 5 mph. The per-county comparison is plotted on this page so you can check any of them.

Can I get all four risk categories in one call?

Yes. One address returns Risk Categories I through IV, with the exposure assumption stated rather than implied.

Do you pick the seismic site class for me?

No. Site class is yours to choose, and the seismic parameters come back for the class you select. We do not assume a default and let it silently propagate into your calc.

Is this a substitute for a sealed determination?

No. PropDocket returns design criteria with sources and dates attached. Applying them, selecting the governing case, and sealing the result remains engineering judgement and remains yours.
